Why is it that so much evil is happening today? Is it just a coincidence or is something sinister, even supernatural, going on in the background? Throughout history and to this day, the question of evil has lingered in the minds of many. To fear evil is not an irrational fear. Not only does evil exist but it is personified in a being known to billions around the world. That being goes by several names, including Lucifer, Satan, and the Devil.  Where did Satan or the Devil come from? Lucifer is the name of the being. Satan (which translates to "the adversary") and the Devil are two of its titles. Lucifer was an angel. Not only an angel but the greatest and most beautiful of all the angels. God loved Lucifer more than any other angel. One common misconception about Lucifer was that he was envious of God and sought to overthrow him. Sex and lust are Satan's most common weapons because it is the easy and most alluring. The consensus of the Catholic Saints is that more people are damned due to sins of the flesh (sexual sins) than due to any other sin. However, sins of the flesh are not necessarily the most severe sins. The most severe are sins that cry out to heaven for vengeance.  There are four category sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance: (1) Intentional murder of the innocent, (2) Sexual perversion, (3) Oppression of the poor, foreigners, widows, and orphans, and (4) Exploiting or defrauding one's workers. The second category is the most severe among sins of the flesh, but more on that in a bit.  Murdering the innocent is, of course, one of the worst crimes one can commit. The sexualization of our society and especially in entertainment is one of the biggest yet overlooked problems in the modern world. I would say it is one of the top ten, maybe even top five, biggest problems. What's even more overlooked is that what we see on the screen is only a fraction of the real scope of this problem.
