Dangers of the Occult

“Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominable practices, the Lord your God will destroy these nations before you.” Deuteronomy 18:10-12. So it is clear from verses like theses that the origins of the occult is evil. Furthermore, and more importantly, you do not need to have evil intentions when dabbling in witchcraft or occultism for it to cause harm to either yourself, other people, or both. Witchcraft and occultism can even affect you or the people you know for life. One can neither anticipate nor prevent the side effects of being involved in such matters. One may think everything is all good when one does not see any immediate side effects after dabbling in witchcraft or occultism, but do not be deceived: Just a few sessions is enough for noticeable effects to start occurring within weeks. If you notice things in your life starting to go very wrong shortly after you've dabbled in the occult, there's a good chance the two are linked. Not only can you be affected, but so can your loved ones or even just those you're familiar with and are often around. 

If you feel like this is mere fear mongering, I wouldn't have believed it either had I not been involved in this stuff myself. I've attempted to summon demons and even attempted to make deals with demons and sell my soul on multiple occasions. I've attempted to cast spells and be clairvoyant (see into the future); while it's true that the Bible contain prophecies, there is a difference between the Holy Spirit granting one insight about the future and one attempting to forcibly see into the future. The latter is not the work of the Holy Spirit, but of an evil counterfeit spirit. Same goes with the "cosmic energy" I've attempted to open myself up during many periods of my life. "You were dead through the trespasses and sins in which you once lived, following the course of this world, following the prince of the powers of the air, the spirit that is now at work among the sons of disobedience." Ephesians 2:1-2. The "powers of the air" are demons so this "cosmic energy" is, in reality, a demonic energy. I've even been involved with Satanism, such as shouting "Hail Lucifer" and "praying" to Satan to defeat God. 

These things can torment you. In unlucky cases, you may even encounter these entities yourself. Exorcists have said that many cases of sleep paralysis, house hauntings, night terrors, and even mental illness can be the result of demonic infestation, obsession, oppression, or possession. Infestation is essentially haunting. When a building is haunted, an object is cursed, or an animal is possessed, it is considered an infestation. The evil spirits don't affect you directly but they do infest your surrounding. Obsession is when you are attacked mentally by demons. Beyond just temptations, you may be assaulted with a torrent of unwanted, dark thoughts and the urge to give in and consent to said thoughts, even to act them out. Various mental illnesses could be tied to demonic obsession as the demons seek to wear you down mentally. It is diabolical psychological warfare. Oppression is when the demons attack you not just mentally but now physically as well. The "poltergeist" is an example of demonic oppression. Not only does the demon infest your surrounding but now they can physically move things around and destroy things. Sometimes, the demon may even appear to you as a dark cloud that's visible in front of you. Other times, the demon can physically assault you, beat you, cause you injuries, and in extreme cases, even sexually molest you.

The "alien abduction" phenomenon is another example of demonic oppression. Telepathy, implanting, hypnosis, experimentation, molestation, and other horrors have all been reported by those allegedly abducted by what they believe to be extraterrestrial beings (but are in reality demons). Victims of this phenomenon can experience it not just once, but repeatedly throughout their lives. Finally, possession is the most severe and it involves one or more demons entering into and having at least partial control over a person's body. Oftentimes, possession can be very subtle. The possessed person may act and talk as if everything is normal under normal circumstances. However, this can change very quickly if the demon is triggered into manifesting itself. Signs of possession include an aversion to all things holy, such as the name of Jesus, blessings, and being in the presence of prayers; "speaking in tongue," making animalistic noises, or unnatural changes in the person's voice; speaking languages the person has never spoken; displaying superhuman strength, such as being able to throw two fully grown men across the room with ease; knowledge of things a human could not possibly know, like what a stranger ate for breakfast that morning. Sometimes, possessed individuals may also emit foul smells such as the smell of fece, sewage, or rotting flesh. As they have an aversion to that which is holy, possessed individuals may assault holy persons (such as priests), throw sacred items across the room, rip picture frames of Jesus or the Saints off walls, or become irate and crawl on the ground if they are blessed. 

Fortunately, the side effects I felt were relatively mild because my house was blessed by a priest shortly after my dad bought it and I have an altar in my bedroom. It was most likely a case of obsession as opposed to oppression or possession. Some will object and say, "but mental illness!" Exorcists today work closely with psychiatrists for this very reason; to ensure that mental illness doesn't get misdiagnosed as possession and vice versa. In the case of obsession, mental illness is itself a weapon of the demon. If you wonder why all the therapy and medications have done nothing to alleviate the mental health crisis in our society, this is one of the main reasons why. The others being social alienation and sexual degeneracy. Prior to the 1960s, it took an average of two weeks in the United States for an exorcism to be completed. Today, it takes an average of between six months and two years. In Italy, there were 167 exorcists in 2000 and that same year, they had approximately 500,000 requests. Most of these can be chalked up to mental illness, but it just goes to show how big of a problem both mental illness and demonic influence are in our world. Also up until 2000, there were an average of 1-2 cases of demonic possession in the United States every decade. By 2020, there were an average of 2-4 cases of demonic possession in every major city at any given time. The United States has gone from having just 1-2 exorcists to over 100 within 20 years.

Ouija boards, spell casting, seances, divination, crystal balls, tarot cards, fortune telling, horoscopes, and the like are all occult and as such, can open the gateway to demons. Not all occultism is magical, however, some are cleverly disguised. Idolatry, or the worship of false gods, can also open the gateway to demons. Psalm 95:5 saids "For all the gods of the gentiles are devils" and Paul wrote in 1st Corinthians 10:20, "What pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God." Worshipping and sacrificing to graven images of strange gods is devil worship disguised. The people doing it might be doing so under invincible ignorance but the act itself is objectively demonic. Just to give two examples. The first is Hinduism, which is all about worshipping cows. Golden cattle are regarded as sacred symbols of their religion. Today, India is a close ally of Israel. Indian Hindus are often some of the most vocal supporters of Israel. Indian men like to fetishize Israeli women in forums while some go as far as joining the IDF themselves. The Indian government maintains close military relations with Israel and the two trade weapons. Hindutva is a Hindu ethnonationalist ideology that is an ideological cousin of Israeli Zionism. Both call for the ethnic cleansing of Christians and Muslims. Remember that when Moses went up Mt. Sinai, the ancient Jews were building golden calves to worship. Christianity and Islam both forbid the worship of graven images, a direct affront to Hindutva and Zionism. 

This is why Islamophobia is so dangerous. Not because Islam is good, because it is not; Muhammad was an evil man. But we need to understand the nuances of Islam, as it is a strange mix of lies and truth. Anti-Islam rhetoric and bigotry can and has been weaponized against Christianity by atheists, Jews, and idol worshippers. From what I've seen, Islamophobia usually benefits Jews, secularists and idolaters more so than it does Christians. Which brings us to example number two, which is the New Age movement and so-called "gods of our ancestors." This is a common trope online and it appears harmless but it is actually dangerous. In the Gospels, exorcisms were instantaneous. In the past, they were done relatively quickly as mentioned. Today, it can take months or years. Here's the thing. In parts of the world where the gospel is still being preached and Christians are a minority, quick or even instantaneous exorcisms do happen. Here in the West, however, where most people were raised Christian, demons are harder to exorcize because it is more often than not a result of things like dabbling in the occult. It is not a coincidence that the rise in demonic activity has coincided with the rise in New Age practices. 

You can't communicate with or worship your ancestors. Demons can mimic your ancestors or even dead relatives so what you're really doing is communing with demons, which opens you up to infestation, obsession, oppression, and possession. As for those who argue that it's the colonial mindset that keeps Africans from worshipping their ancestors instead of the Christian God, white people in Europe were pagans prior to becoming Christian. Christianity is not a white man's religion, it didn't even start in Europe. Europe was pagan until Christianity arrived from the Mediterranean. Look up the Anglo-Saxons, the Franks, the Germanic tribes, and the Norse. All of them used to be pagan and today, many white identitarians express desire to go back to their pagan ancestry the same way many Black identitarians want to go back to worshipping their ancestors. 

In our modern era, there is yet another form of idolatry and occultism which hides behind the guise of science and technology. The word "occult" comes from the Latin "occultus" which means "knowledge of the hidden." There are some things God created which is meant to be obscured from human knowledge. Remember that the fall of man occurred because Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge. Today, atheistic and naturalistic science is attempting to once again eat of the forbidden fruit. They want to discover knowledge that God has forbidden humanity from accessing. Things like tampering with human biology, including research into resurrecting the dead, cloning new humans, or creating artificial intelligence that can become more intelligent than man. It is the same spirit as Nimrod who tried building a tower into heaven. God alone has the power and right to create and resurrect human beings. Other things include research into forbidden physics, such as time travel, black holes beyond the event horizon, or string theory. My departure from the occult also coincided with me starting to seize these forbidden physics not with curiosity but as matters which mankind is not supposed to know. Many will say I'm reading too much into it, but am I? Today, we have nuclear weapons that can wipe out the entire human population twice over while we teach children that they came from monkeys rather than being created by God. 

Satanism is real. There have been testimonies from ex-Satanist or those born in Satanist families which confirms that Satanism is not just some social club with an ironic or twisted sense of humour. This may be how Satanists present themselves publicly but behind closed doors, they perform real black magic. Those who grew up in these families are often subjected to Satanic ritual abuse, including child sacrifice and pedophilia. Many have suffered decades of severe trauma, mental illness, drug use, and suicide attempts due to the horrors they've experienced. It wouldn't be until decades later than some of them would finally muster enough strength to speak up. Sadly, because of the horrors they've experienced, most remain too traumatized to speak up. Others are afraid of what the perpetrators may do to them if they speak up. Most don't dare to speak up because they know those involved in Satanic ritual abuses include extremely successful public figures. Celebrities, top directors, politicians, high-ranking military officials, billionaires, and even royalty are involved in Satanism. Diabolical cults exist all over the world, infiltrating not only the highest but even the most holiest of places such as the Vatican.
